I'm trying to create a trapped PDF through Acrobat. I'm sending the Postscript file out of Indesign with all the trapping presets. If the file has any complexity to it, it rips to about 80% and then stops. If it's a easy page it rips and traps beautifully. We have a customer that is requesting trapped PDF's and I'm trying to get to the bottom of this problem. Is there a setting in Acrobat thats causing it to hang up, do we need a different rip. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Ok, some Adobe PostScript RIPs include an in-RIP trapping engine.
But neither Distiller nor Distiller Server does in-RIP trapping. It isn't really a possibility, in-RIP trapping works at the level of the final bitmap, not an intermediate PDF.
Or do you mean that you've trapped it in Illustrator already and just want a PDF? If so, just save as PDF.
I can send trapped postscript out of indesign. If the page isnt to complex its makes a trapped PDF just fine. The problem I'm having is that when the file gets complex it wont make a PDF it distills it to about 80% then stops. Im looking for away around this, something that can handle the information and still get a PDF out of it
