Dreamweaver CS6 "not supported with this type of Mac" problem

When I try to open Dreamweaver CS6 on my Macbook Pro, it says "You can't open the application Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 because it is not supported with this type of Mac.  I'm not sure if this is a question for Apple, but why would it not work on my Mac?  My Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Media Encoder all work just fine.  Any help?  Thanks!

Are you trying to install a fresh copy Dreamweaver CS6?  If so then it looks like you are trying to install a windows version on your Mac.  This happens if you downloaded the trial version using a windows system to install on your other system when in fact you should have used the drop down arrows to select for the mac version.

Please explain your question if this not so.

No, I bought it brand new from Adobe.  It says right on the back that it's for Mac OS X v10.6 or x10.7.  I am running Mac OS X v10.7.4.  Does this help?  Or what other information would be helpful?

Yes you have given all the necessary information.  I suggest try this link first:

    Hello,

I have the same problem but with Bridge, Photoshop and Illustrator. I've bought the educational version of CS6 Design & Web. Everything was correctly installed, just those three applications don't wan't to open and show the message:

"You can’t open the application “Adobe Bridge CS6” because it’s not supported on this type of Mac."

    I am running:

    - Mac OS X version 10.6.8

    - Processor 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo

    - Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Looks like the requirements written on the package, no?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Try doing a clean install of the OS a friend of mine had this same thing happen with Mountain Lion and that corrected the issue for him.

Another answer may be using the direct downlaod from Adobe and just inputing the serial key from your phsycial disc.
