Upgraded the latest version of Adobe Acrobat X, 10.1.2 yesterday. After a few minutes, the Acrobat icon on my desktop changes to the first page of the pdf document. Had this same problem with previous versions of Acrobat.
How do I maintain the document's Acrobat Icon on desktop? Thanks.

It seems that my previous message in this thread has got lost in the Internet.
If it's the icons of your files changing to the typical PDF icon (and not the files themselves being converted to PDF format), you may want to try this:

Thank you for your reply. However, the problem is NOT files changing to the PDF icon. My problem is the opposite. When I first send a PDF file to my desktop, the Acrobat icon appears. However, within a few minutes, the icon changes to the first page of the PDF document. I need to keep the Acrobat icon permanent on the desktop to at least hide the document from direct view. Of course, someone could just click on the file and open it, but at least it wouldn't be open to immediate view.
Thanks.
