I am generating a CHM file from RoboHelp 8.0.2.208. I am encountering an intermittent problem when the file is integrated with the build. The text is being displayed in white font instead of black, which, of course, makes the page look blank.
This is not the case in all environments, although I have seen it in an environment running OS2008, 32 bit.
Hi there
Questions here.
Does this happen only when an associated application opens the help? Or does it also occur when you just double-click the CHM?
Only on one PC or on any PC?
Only on one Operating System (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8) or on all of them?

Ummm, okay.
I've got a bit of an issue with the following:
So far, I can only definitely say OS2008 (that’s the server’s operating system).
Unless you have jumped through some hoops, CHM files don't run from servers. They only run when you have them locally installed. So I'm wondering here if that's really what you are seeing. Instead of White text on a white background, the CHM is simply not showing anything because the content is being blocked.

Ahhh, okay. That makes better sense.
So I take it this is a Server application and the CHM is shipped as local help for that application while it is being used by a person sitting in front of the server, no?
And if they open the help without using the application, it displays just fine?
If that's the case, I'm inclined to think that the issue is entirely within the realm of your development team to sort. I mean, there really isn't anything I can think of that you could do on the RoboHelp side to influence things. Since you say it opens and displays just fine when you double-click the CHM from inside Windows and the only time it "fails" is when the application opens it. I'm thinking it simply *HAS* to be something the developers are doing when they open the CHM file.
