Authorising my kobo wifi

I've recently bought a Kobo Wifi so that I can borrow books from my local library.  I was able to download and read several, but now I'm being told that the books are locked and I need to authorise my device.

 

I tried to register my Kobo at the adobe site, but it told me that the serial number wasn't valid.

 

Help!

    You should not be trying to 'register' your ereader with Adobe.  Looks like

    you have a problem with Kobo, and there's nothing Adobe can do to fix

    that.  You'll have to take this up with Kobo help.
