Hi,
Before I start my gear:
Premiere Pro CS6 (latest update) via Windows 7 64 bit.
Speedgrade CS6 (latest update)
Handling RED ONE R3D Files (directly editing RAW data)
What I'm trying to do
Adobe Premiere Edit > export EDL > Speedgrade > import EDL > Link Clips (wont work)
The Issue
I've been trying to get an EDL imported and linked to its clips into speed grade via Adobe Premiere CS6 with no avail. Although I was able to import the EDL I was unable to link the RAW R3D files to the clips.
After hours of investigation I've narrowed it down to the fact that the EDL being exported from PPro has the incorrect file reference.
The EDL below refers to the file by 'A029C023' when it should be 'A029_C023_04203V_001' (when I manually renamed it then I was able to 'Load from desktop' from speedgrade)
Could someone tell me why this is happening? My final edit has hundreds of edit points and it would be unrealistic to manually change all the file names.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!
Cheers,

I could send some to you but they are pretty large files as you could imagine.
Do you know where premiere gets the refrence for the file names from? Is it the category called 'Tape Name' ? If I can pin point where its picking up the data from then I might be able to see if I could update it somehow. The strange thing is when I right click the footage and give properties, then the clip name is correct.
Actually I just tried created a project from scratch and I've found out what the issue is. The EDL's 'FROM CLIP NAME' is referring to my clip reference (like WS etc), when it should refer to its filename (A029etc.R3D). Does anyone know how I can get premiere to use the filename instead of the custom clip name?
I could really do with some help here.
I've narrowed the issue down to the fact that I've renamed each of my clips in the bin as I logged them in, and the EDL is referring to this. If I had left these clips have the original source file name then the EDL export would have worked. This is really frustrating since its normal practice to do this when Logging in clips. The issue is complicated further with the fact that I am handling merged clips.
Could someone please tell me if its possible to pull and EDL into Speedgrade from Premiere when the clip names have been changed in the Bin?
when I rename the clip to the file name the non merged clips work the case is NOT the same with merged clips. Changing the merged clips (and its source clips) name to the file name has no effect and the EDL still referes to the name I gave it when logging in. I have also tried renaming the clip from the the timeline with no result.
I could really do with some input and having recently moved over from Final Cut I'm very surprised that you don't get the option to choose the metadata the EDL is referring to and why they would choose clip name as opposed to file name.
Exporting DPX takes way too, the performance isnt great when grading and I lose all my RED R3D Metadata.
