Web Link as an underscore which is too long

A web link in a PDF was updated with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.  The new URL is longer than the original.  As a result, the updated web link has an underscore that is too long.  I've tried shortening the underscore with the Link Tool as well as with the Touchup Text Tool, but neither worked.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on this.

Did you try to save as, close, and reopen to possibly clear any latency that is there? Was the web link an actual hard link or a soft link created by Acrobat because it saw something that looked like a link. I did not think that a line was typically used with links in Acrobat, but have not checked recently. If that is the case, you might try the object select tool and select the line and delete it.

The link might just have a space after the link that is being included in the linked text. A screenshot would be very helpful in determining what this is.

This is an underscore left on the page? Underscores, strange to say, have nothing to do with links, nor anything to do with text. There is no such thing a an underlined link or an underlined text. So what are underlines? Nothing but graphics, lines drawn on the page.

The underscore is part of the original document. You may change the original document and create a new PDF document.
