IE9 not rocognizing <nav> tag why?

Why is IE 9 not recognizing the styles of a <nav> tag according to W3 schools site <nav> is support and it is, but <nav> in the CSS is not being supported i know this is the problem because inside of <nav> i put a div, and id it the same and it works. So can anyone else conferm this?

yes and i found out what was wrong with it IE 9 was not supporting the <nav> tag i just wanted to know why that is. why is that every other browser supports it fine but IE does not?

IE9 does support the <nav> tag.

Can you post a link to your page showing where it is not being supported?
