Need help on copying and pasting into Excel

Aug 17, 2012 1:46 PM

I am using Adobe 10 and I am trying to copy a PDF document that contains a picture and then paste into excel. However, I only want to select a portion of the picture and not the entire PDF document. When I do this, and I have tried every option available, it will paste all of the data associated with the picture into 1 column in excel. What I want, is for it to paste only the portion I've selected and copied into Excel as a 'picture'. This used to work in an older version of Adobe, but I cannot figure out to do it in 10.

You probably want the Snapshot tool which is not installed by default in Acrobat X (don't ask me why).

To put it on your toolbar, right-click on your toolbar. Select Edit > Take Snapshot.

With the snapshot tool, you drag it around what you want to copy. It does not copy the whole screen any time I have ever used it. Keep in mind that it copies at screen resolution and so if you want a portion, you may want to zoom in first and then use the tool.
