Publishing from OpenOffice Writer

Aug 17, 2012 8:14 AM

Hi, I'm interested in publishing nonfiction books that are in OpenOffice Writer using Dreamweaver CS3. I don't want to publish page by page however using Dreamweaver. The books are 200 pages, 320 pages, and 140 pages respectively. It would be much too much work to publish page by page. I'm thinking the only way to publish and not have to do page by page is to simply add a link that is downloadable. Is this easy to do. Can I make the file a PDF or else another format that people would be able to access and download. Just curious if anyone can help me. Thank you. Yasha

You might want to check with the OpenOffice support area for this type of question.  Adobe's solution for publishing is InDesign where you can export for web or epub.  As big of a supporter as I am, I don't want to lead you down the wrong path.  DW won't do what you are looking to do.

you can send your book in ebook format, or PDF to your server and leave a link to access it. when someone clicks it would not download, it would only open the PDF reader inside the browser and the web surfer if he might want to download or not. Thus it is quite easy.
