p12 certificate

This is a repeat question, sorry, but I'm still having a problem getting a working distribution p12 certificate from the organization I'm working with.
I am building a single edition.
It appears the developer and distribution mobile provisioning is all correct, my p12 developer certificate is working fine and we successfully tested the developer app.
I've had their OIT office create a distribution p12 certificate for me twice and each time I get the same error when trying to sign with their certificate and password on my computer, "Not finding expected label 'iPhone Distribution:' in this certificate" (see image below)
Since I'm working from the outside and am relying on their OIT staff to provide me the correct signing certificate...am I SOL? Or do I need to usurp someone's desk in the office to build the certificate myself? Can you tell me where in the certificate/p12 certificate process where this iPhone Distribution label would be clicked/selected, etc.
I realize there is probably a very simple solution. Thank you for your help!
