Elements 8 won't recognize Fuji propriatary RAW files

Aug 17, 2012 4:06 PM

Elements 8 won't recognize *.RAF files (RAW files produced by my Fuji HS-20-EXR) - i get a message that it does not support that file type.     Elements 8 supposed to be able to process RAW files, so how do i get my version to recognize Fuji's propriatary RAW file?

Since the camera raw plugin your need (6.4) is not compatible with pse 8, you could use the 7.1 DNG Converter to convert your files to dng copies which will then open in pse 8.

The most common cause of that is opening the folder you select.

In other words just click on the folder itself to select it and converter will read the pictures inside.

I don't see your screenshot, but you shouldn't open the folder. If you actually try to open the folder by clicking on the folder containing the raw files in the Explorer Bar, then you'll get the message you got.

Click on the folder containing the folder with the raw files in the Explorer Bar then click on the folder containing the raw files in the view pane.

For example, below the folder named fujifilm_finepix_hs20exr contains the raw files to convert, but that folder is located in the Public Pictures folder, so in the explorer bar click on

Public Pictures, then in the view pane just a single click on the fujifilm_finepix_hs20exr folder and then pressing Select is all it should take.

You have to actually come to the forum and use the Insert Image (the small camera icon) to post an image on forum.

I don't work for adobe, i'm just a user such as yourself.

I can't find any good videos, so hopefully this will help:

(click the animated gif below for bigger view)

It might take a few seconds to start playing, depending on how fast your connection is.
