When I do a horizontal flip of my image in the Develop module of Lightroom 4.1 and then go to the Print module and apply a text watermark, it displays correctly on the screen. However, when I print to jpeg and then open the jpeg file, the watermark has flipped horizontally. It displays as mirror image text and has moved from the lower right to the lower left of the image. And, yes, the image is still flipped as it should be. Is this a bug? For now I will do the flip external to Lightroom.
This is on a PC. I input this issue while on hold for support. The above "reply" is the same thing I was told at first, until I demonstrated to the tech while doing a screen share. We reset the preferences and I tried it on a different catalog and got the same results. The tech then tried it and it found that it did happen on his computer after all. You have to view the output file or printout, as it does not show reversed in the preview. This is being escalated to the engineers as a probable bug. To replicate this issue, while in the Develop module of Lightroom 4.1, select Flip Horizontal from the Photo menu. If you do not flip it, you will not see the problem. Next, go to the Print module, select a text watermark, and then either print to a jpeg or to a printer. Then open the jpeg in any application or viewer and check out the watermark. It will be horizontally flipped. I suspect doing a vertical flip would yield corresponding results.
