I am having problems with printing (and scanning) with Adobe X v.10.1.4 and my HP OfficeJet D135. When printing pdfs, it the print out regularly stalls at about the middle of the page. With scanning, Adobe X crashes every second time or so for no obvious reasons. Btw: OS is Windows 7 Professional ...
Anybody having a solution to this?
I tried scanning with HP Officejet 8500 and problem did not appear for me.
Could you please try updating the device driver once.
And can you try scanning with WIA driver of the scanner once. Is the problem seen with WIA driver also?

Re the driver: as the problem only occurs with Adobe but not with other programs such as the MS Office package or the like, it should not have anything to do with the driver but more so with the Adobe program. In any case, when trying to download and install the most recent driver from the HP website, I first come across the advice given there, that it’s already included in Windows 7, and then, when it comes to installation itself, even get the advice that a more recent driver is already installed with the recommendation given to stop installation.
Re scanning via WIA: it works fine, however, is only suitable when scanning single pages instead of whole documents in the “document feeder” mode. So again: it must have something to do with Adobe X (or at least the interface between Adobe X and the HP device) being unstable.
Therefore, may be there is something else to be considered … Or may be there is some other advice out there …
Please share the crash log with us. To generate the crash log:
1) From Control Panel > Opt System > Click on “Advanced system settings”
2) In the “Systems Properties” dialog that follows > under the “Advanced” tab > click “Settings…” button in the “Startup and Recovery” frame.
3) On the “Setup and Recovery” dialog, check the option “Write an event to the system log”. Choose the “Small memory dump” option under “Write debugging information” frame.
4) Now launch the authoring application (or Acrobat) and repeat the steps that cause the crash.
5) Traverse to the location specified for the “Dump File”.
The crash log would be heavy enough that you would not be able to attach or e-mail it. So zip compress it once and you can use acrobat.com or other some other free services like yousendit.com to share it.
I tried, however, strangely enough I do not find the dump file in the designated (or any other) folder. In the relevant setting it says “%SystemRoot%\Minidump”, however it’s nowhere to be found … But again, crashing occurs while scanning, mostly when scanning multipage documents through the document feeder, and almost always at the end of the process, when Adobe is done with the “transferring data” steps and runs through the “processing data” routines (optimizing, …, loading image, … deskewing image, … rotating image, … OCR optimization, … optimizing) – and there again almost always at the very last steps of it, the final optimization. So far for the scanning problem … And if given some advice on where to find the dump file, I certainly will add this for further problem fixing ideas.
Even more importantly the printing problem: with printing the problem is NOT that Adobe crashes BUT that the printing stalls, i.e. that when sending one page from Adobe to the printer, it works fine for half the page or so, but the remainder is left empty. While the ratio of (printed/not printed) for the same page is different from one time to the other, sometimes 50/50, sometimes 80/20, and the like (but sometimes even no problem at all), it should not have anything to do with the printer memory. Especially, as printing out the very same document from my old computer with my old Adobe works fine … Here again I would be grateful for any advice given there.
