reflecting object to appear opposite side

Aug 18, 2012 11:01 AM

Hi, I have managed to reflect objects but cannot manage to reflect one object across the Artboard to show up on the opposite side. If you see my image below, I would like to reflect the horizontal stripe at the top of the design and make it appear at the bottom of the Artboard so it finishes the design. Almost all of the work I do requires only one quarter of the design to be created, then I could just reflect it across and then reflect it down so this would be a useful piece of knowledge to have if anyone could help

    onwards,

If I understand it in the right way, you may:

    1) Create the first quarter (the top left is presumed),

    2) Create a (possibly nostroke/nofill) circle with its centre at the final centre, large enough to extend past the artwork,

    3) Group 1) and 2) and Object>Transform>Reflect horizontally as a copy,

    4) Select everything and Object>Transform>Rotate or Reflect vertically as a copy.

Use Rotate in 4) to get the bottom midlle part as shown, use Reflect to get it to mirror the top one.

You may delete the circles when you are done (or leave them as nostroke/nofill for further editability).
