Hi folks,
I am noticing some weirdness with Firefox and when I click the back button (to go back to the page with the flash movie) the buttons that are connected to links no longer work. This only happens in Firefox.
If you go to http://bucket.streamworksaudio.com/flex/flex.html with Firefox click on any of the buttons (they go to various URLs on our site and Socialize just goes to Facebook), then click back to go back to the page with the flash buttons - the buttons do not work. The button 'My Account' also does not work, and this button just changes states (not a URL button).
Load the same URL in Chrome, I.E and Safari (I tested Chrome, I.E and Firefox on Windows. Safari was on OS X). And the buttons work as expected.
So does Firefox's back button break buttons (being clickable) in Flash movies.
BYW - I did this flash using Flex Building 3 and the Flex button components.
I gave this a try but couldn't reproduce the problem using 11.4 (released today)
I did the following steps:
1. Navigated to http://bucket.streamworksaudio.com/flex/flex.html in Firefox 14.0.1
2. Clicked "Home"
3. Clicked the browser's back button
4. Clicked "Video Tutorials"
Result: I was taken to the page: http://streamworksaudio.com/categories
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the reply. Actually the day after I posted this I was prompted to install the Flash Payer update. And after doing so all works as expected.
Just to add, before the update I found that Firefox would only behave this way when wmode was set to opaque or transparent. My Flash menu now works with the wmode set to transparent.
Cheers,
Chris
