footer @ bottom

Aug 19, 2012 2:05 PM

I am trying to stick my footer at the bottom of the page and can't figure out the correct settings for the footer div.

The problem is that in the site there are pages with varying height in content (never larger than one screen) and also need this for use on a tablet so when they go from landscape to portrait the footer is always at the bottom...thanks

    This one works on a desktop/laptop browsers:

    #footer{

        position:fixed;

        left:0px;

        bottom:0px;

        height:50px;

        width:100%;

        background:#C42380;

    }

    /* ie6 fix but can be ignored as not many people still use it in the western/civilized world!!!! */

    * html #footer{

        position:absolute;

        top:expression((0-(footer.offsetHeight)+(document.documentElement.cli entHeight ? document.documentElement.clientHeight : document.body.clientHeight)+(ignoreMe = document.documentElement.scrollTop ? document.documentElement.scrollTop : document.body.scrollTop))+'px');

    }

    I don't use tablet, ipad, or a mobile phone so I know nothing about them.  We have free Wi-fi in my area so I don't need a phone line either.  All my communication with the people is by e-mail and/or skype when I'm at home.
