when I import footage of a specific interview into PP, at 2;45 the audio suddenly jumps back to the begining of the clip while the video continues to playback as usual. The original file is fine, there is no problem playing it in any other program, and this only happens with this one clip, no others are affected. I've removed this clip and re-imported it, up-dated PP, and re-booted my computer all to no avail. Any suggestions? This is quite frustrating.... I've lost some of my previous work, and would just like to be able to have useable interview footage...
Thanks for you help,
Ben

OK, let's go back to the beginning, and post some details

Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... a screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing

If your timeline has a red line over the video, at 1st import and before you do any work... you have an incorrect project setting
Here's a few details:
Premier Pro CS6 with 6.0.1 update (updated again as soon as problem noticed)
Using Windows 7
Using G-spot the video codec is "avc1" and under the "Name" category it said "H.264"
The Audio codec is mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC
the file type is MPEG saved as a ".MOV"
Note that I'm using a lot of other footage shot from the same camera in the same codec in this project (and in several other projects) and have not encountered this issue. I've read all those posts and get the idea of what a codec is, but I'm no expert. Let me know if this information is sufficent or if there's more I can provide.
No Error messages, just editing as usual, and I noticed the problem with the audio when I tried to use footage after a particular point
Not running any other software at the time I first noticed the problem. Did go back and check the auto saved files and noticed that the footage was doing the same thing there as well.
Haven't installed any third party effects or codec's
As far as hardware is concerned I'm using a pretty basic PC setup. It's a laptop with an i7-3720QM 2.6GHz processor (quad core), 16 GB RAM, an NVIDIA GT 650M GPU with 2 GB VRAM
I am using Mercury Playback Engine with GPU Acceleration
The problem is that when doing anything with the video in PP at the same spot everytime the audio begins to play from the start (At 2:45 the audio begins to play from the start while the video continues to play as usual). this gives me audio that's 2:45 behind the clip. This occurs both in the source monitor and when I insert the clip into the time-line.
Not sure what a screen shot would reveal, everything looks just fine. No red lines when I first import, everything plays back in real time, the audio is simply off. This problem doesn't occur when playing back with any other program (I've tried windows media player, and just for fun played it back with Adobe Bridge and there was no problem with playback in either program.) This problem occurs both in the project I first noticed the problem in and when I import the footage into a new project.
Hopefully some of the info helps...
