Dreamweaver doesn't connect when I'm connected through iPhone tethering!!

Took me a long time and a lot of frustration before I put these two things together. When I am working on the tethered internet connection through my iPhone, Dreamweaver does not connect to my ftp servers, and often when I try it shuts down my entire internet connection.

 

I have no idea where to even begin troubleshooting this....

 

Does anyone have any ideas?

    I'd recommend taking this question to your phone carrier.  There is a possibility they are blocking FTP through the phone data plans.  I searched the following ( " verizon tethering ftp ") through Google and came up with a ton of results that carriers from Verizon to AT&T to Rogers are all blocking certain types of data to keep the bandwidth down.

    Interesting...FWIW I am able to ftp via Transmit, just not Dreamweaver, which is why I thought to post it in a DW forum...I will investigate that route though..

    I don't know if you got this solved or not, but I've had success with changing server settings in Dreamweaver to "Passive FTP" while tethered through Verizon.
