How do I get the folder list to go from newest at top to oldest folders at bottom?
Vic
As far as I know, Lightroom does not have this feature.
However, in the Grid, you can force the sorting of photos (not folders) from newest to oldest; or from oldest to newest (your choice). In the toolbar at the bottom (press T if it doesn't appear), clicking on the AZ icon reverses the sort order, and the dropdown immediately to the right lets you choose the sort criterion.
Thanks dj. But all that seems to do is reorder the folder I am in not all the folders I have in chronological order nearest to oldest. It is maddening having my date sequences folders with my 2003 stuff first and the 2012 folders way down the list last.
Any other ideas?

If you click on "All Photographs" in the Catalog panel, and then click on the AZ icon once or twice, it re-orders all photos with the most recent at the top. Still doesn't re-order the sequence of folders.
This is not a problem for me, I don't search for my photos by going to the folder that contains it; I search for my photos via keywords and other metadata. Something to think about.
That works sort of... The date column is resorted but the folders section on the left hand side of the screen is not resorted.
Is it possible to do the same thing with the folders section so that the most recent import appears first in the folders list and descends by date? That is what I'm trying to do.

I already have that starting with 1999 thru 2012 subfollders with date shot subfolders within the year subfolder. However, I have lot of photos. Why can't I get it to put 2012 first and 1999 last. Everyother photo program I have used in the past it has been simple to do just that..as a matter of fact...the raw folders on the hard drive do just that. Why will Lightroom not do this one simple thing?
