Jeff / Joe , HELP! Suddenly Im getting email for everything that is being posted!

How do I make it stop?   ;-)

    Check your email notifications in your preferences under Your Stuff.

    Yes Ann, I checked out the options and all seem related to getting email from threads  that I have had some interaction with. There is no "Sop getting emails from every new post that is made." option.

    In "My Stuff" Email Prefes I have turned everything off. And Im still getting emails. Not acceptable!

    Try logging out, clearing your browser's cache, then logging back in. 

    Change your preferences again.  Do things work as expected?

    Thanks Jeff. I went in and deleted all of these, which Im guessing is the browser cache you are referring to...

    But its not clear which setting stops me from getting every new thing that is posted. Any hints?

    Your browser cache is what contains your temporary internet files and cookies.  In Internet Explorer you can delete it by clicking on the gear icon under the Window close button and choosing Internet Options, and in Firefox, you can choose History | Clear Recent History under the Firefox dropdown menu.

    PS -- try setting all of your email notifications to No.  If you want a more targeted possible solution, try setting only the Automatically...discussions I reply to and Automatically...discussions I create to No.

    Jeff-try setting only the Automatically...discussions I reply to and Automatically...discussions I create to No.

     

    Why would I set the only 2 situations I WANT to get email for ( discussions I creae & discussions I reply to) to No.

     

    I just dont want emails from every new posting that comes to the site.
