Invalid Serial Number for CS2??

in 2006 I purchased a cs2.  I used it for a couple of years, got out of the industry and then changed my computer.  So I am gradually getting back into things, and went to reinstall my cs2.  Invalid Serial number.  What!!!???  How does a serial number go from valid to invalid?   What do I have to do to get things into working order?

At which point do you get the warning? During install? At activation? How are you installing? On what system? you need to be a lot more specific.

If a serial number has been relased into the wild (read internet hacking sites), then Adobe will invalidate the serial number. This may not be your problem though. CS 2 is probably so old that it or the licensing system may not work properly under Windows 7 especially if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows 7. New computers frequently require new software.
