Adobe Reader 10.4.1 mac hangs

Aug 20, 2012 6:53 PM

I downloaded Reader because i got a notice to upgrade it. It hung in install after 20 minutes. I reinstalled and now it says it is waiting for the first installation to complete.  What next?  Do I even need reader?  I have Acrobat Pro.

You don't need it, but being bereft of some features it may offer a lighter and safer alternative when viewing suspicious PDFs. Run the Acrobat Cleaner Tool and reinstall Acrobat and reader, if you so desire.

Moving this discussion to the Adobe Reader forum.

I understand that there is no Mac version of the tool?

Unfortunatley not Claudio.  It was mainly developed after Microsoft removed the Microsoft Cleanup Utility.  From my understanding it is mainly aimed at removing the registry entries left by Adobe Reader and Acrobat.
