Why Does Dreamweaver Keep Crashing

Aug 20, 2012 1:52 PM

Dreamweaver has worked perfectly well until today, when it started crashing and keeps crashing everytime I reopen it and try to work on a page. I get an error message "Dreamweaver has unexpectedly quit, a message will be sent to Apple" with a lot of tech information in a box. I am running on Mtn Lion.

    DW runs best on a windows system and this documented adequately on these forums.  People with Macs of any flavors are always complaining about DW:  Slow, FTP not working, Crashing, menu disappears, display not good etc etc.

    Well some Mac people in these forums complain about DW running on their Macs. That's to be expected in a problem solving forum.

    DW CS6 runs OK on my MacBook Air with Mountain Lion.

    Plenty of Windows people complain in these forums about DW's performance on their systems too.

    @mozgomedia

    That's an outrageous post, really.  You need to say less and read more.  Check mytaxsite's posts over the last two weeks.  You will find that he has helped lots of people.

    what kind of help is this?

    someone asks a question and nobody gives any hand, it is like somebody comes out of the desert half death of thirst, crying out for water and you ask what kind of water, perhaps botled or mineral... (this can come only from a Windows user)

    DW CS6 crashed on my machine many times with the same message, but so far after a restart it kept working again. Only recently I get some odd behavior. I am considering to uninstall and reinstall but would be glad to get some advice what to do, but reading this posts I am feeling lost...

    If someone had a quick answer for you, you would have already gotten it.  The substantive posts in this thread are your original one, the one from John Waller asking you which DW version, and this one to which I am replying where you respond that you are using DW6.  Let's leave it at that.

    Although most questions posted here are answered, some need more than a public user-to-user forum can provide.  Since this is not an official communication vehicle with Adobe, you may need to resort to more direct requests of support.  Meanwhile, I'll see if I can get some cavalry to swing by and take a look.
