InDesign won't export pdf

I'm using InDesign CS5 on OSX 10.8. I've tried to export multiple pdfs from various files and have this problem every now and then (Which happend on both OSX 10.7 and 10.8). The empty pdf file will start as if nothing is wrong and then just disappear after about 10-15 seconds. No error dialog pops up or anything.

One file in particular is about 50 pages long and when I've exported 1 or 2 select pages, it works fine somehow, just refuses to export the file in its entirety.

All of my software is up to date. Does anybody have any solutions?

It seems like there is an issue on one of your pages:

Try making PDFs in 10 page increments and narrow down from there.

The issue could be images, font ....

Once you have narrowed down to the page make a PDF by deleting 1 item at a time.

    Hope this was helpful.

Forget 10 page increments. Try two halves. Divide any half that wont work in half again, and so forth. You'll be down to a singel page in only a few steps or it will just work in chunks (that does happen -- failures with entire docs, but smaller chunks work fine). If it works in chunks, use them and recombine in Acrobat Pro.
