Can't Install Lightroom 2 on OS 10.8

Aug 19, 2012 1:58 PM

It almost finishes the installation on my new iMac, but then quits with a critical error at the end. Is there a patch/fix?

Ask in the LR forum. It may simply be an unavoidable compatibility issue.

What is the error message which you receive?  Did you have Lightroom 2 installed on 10.8 previously?  If so what prompted you to need to reinstall the software?

Acbast99 I would recommend starting with installing a later version of the software than what is included on the Installation media.  Per Can't install Lightroom 2 | Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 - http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/cant-install-lightroom-2-mac.html it was not possible to install directly from the disc under Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7.

In addition you may also want to try the steps listed in solution 1 of Error "has not been signed by a recognized distributor" | Launch Adobe applications | Mac OS - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-signed-distributor-mac -os.html.

Finally if you continue to have difficulties with the install process I would recommend going through the steps listed in Troubleshoot system errors, freezes | Mac OS 10.x | Adobe software - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-f reezes-mac.html.
