I've just waded through many, many pages of entries to find if anyone has asked this and haven't found a precise match so please forgive me if I am (re)covering something of this specific nature.
This is addressed to Adobe itself, having found no other way to contact them directly due to time/location/etc or an email address, and it is, I guess rhetorical: more something to be acted upon if possible than requiring an explicit textual response.
Judging by a google of related questions (and the auto-complete bringing up, for example "why does adobe update so much?") it is obviously something that doesn't just effect me. I DO wish to have an up-to-date version of Flash Player and PDF Reader, etc, but I find the way it is handled by Adobe to be incredibly intrusive and annoying.
1) IF you really do need to make so many updates, it suggests, if I may say, something is amiss in your software development lifecycle - ie concentrating on getting things right before release. IF you don't, then please reduce their frequency.
2) IF you do need to make the updates (and in fact even if you don't), please can you do *something* about the user-interface / process of managing their installation for the end-user? I've lost count of the number of times I've given it the go-ahead and then gone off to do something else, only to return to find a dialogue box has popped up (probably right as I turned my back) to ask for further verification, and not just once either. In addition I'm getting advised of things that I believe either were never a problem or are no longer a problem, contrary to this advice. I guess my suggestion would be to try to deal with any and all of these things, where in fact they are indeed necessary, at ONCE - one dialogue box, one break in the line of thought that probably prompted the user to turn on the computer in the first place.
This is one of those things that I'm amazed has persisted for as long as it has: at least a year or two, perhaps several. For me personally, and I suspect for many others, it's one of the more frustrating events of regular computer use. Please, please, can you do something to resolve it?
Thank-you.
Regards,
Chris
Chris can you please provide a bit more context regarding your request. Which Adobe products are you concerned regarding the frequency of updates? It appears that you are referencing Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader is this correct?
Is there any additional pieces of Adobe software you are also concerned about us providing updates too?
I see thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately many of the updates we are often releasing for both of these products are security updates. This is due to new vulnerabilities being discovered/exploited. By applying the latest updates it does help your computer stay more secure.
The newest updates though for Flash Player should give you the option to install the updates automatically. Were you able to turn this feature on in your most recent update?
Thanks Jeff. Yes, it did give me that option, but I chose not to take it as I prefer to a) retain control over what gets onto my hard-drive and when, and b) be able to have an idea of my bootup time (ie if in a hurry to do something, be able to put off a new update until a later time.)
But the second point of my original post still stands - if it was possible to compile the two or more points of interaction via dialogue boxes, into one (eg yes, I want to install; yes, I agree with the terms; yes, please leave my install as manual; go!) it would be greatly appreciated. That way you avoid the scenario resulting from slower computers and/or internet connections where the user gives the process the go-ahead, goes off to do something else, returns to do what they have to do on the computer and finds it's been sitting there waiting for more input and therefore still not fully booted and ready to use.
Thanks very much for the explanation!
Thank you for the feedback Chrisn_screen_name. I will certainly pass it on. You are also welcome to provide your feedback directly by filling out the Feature Request/Bug Report form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform.
Personally, I would like to see a list of all updates available for all Adobe products, once per week only (if any). Not helter skelter one at a time at random intervals.
I realize that Flash is such an awful product, so full of security holes (and so very buggy), that you need to warn users more often perhaps. I suggest most of these be put into a weekly report, unless they are truly dire. If you do pop up a warning for update, also present any other updates for other Adobe products.
Hi there
I 5 min ago I just got yet another Adobe Flash message asking me to install an update and then I took a few minutes just to register here and type. This, like everyonelse has mentioned, appears to happen atleast 7 times a month or more. It's VERY annoying and I guess it's my fault for ticking "don't remind me of updates, because I'd rather want to update when youtube won't work anymore or the like. I do not like closing my browsing session suddenly to have a random install.
I agree with Chris, can you please stop issuing updates several times a month? I only get amd driver updates like once every 2-3 months, you should release larger'''' updates , less frequently instead of small updates all the time.
Cheers,
Leo

This is simply not true; these Flash Player updates were released this year:
I accept that there were more updates than usual in February, but it is far from as frequent as you make it sound.
