Struggled imensely to download flash player. Now that it is finally on the hard drive, it does not operate. The message I get remains the same: download flash player. Cannot look at any attachments sent to me. Most irritating. Cannot seem to chat to someone either for possible help. Is there an immediate response option from adobe?

What is your operating system & version?

What is your web browser?

You write that you downloaded Flash Player; did you also install it?

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to ask questions.

Windows 7 : IE9 & Babylon : Been trying to install over and over. The

indication is that it is installed, but when I access a video on you tube,

it asks for flash player. In the process of trying, I have lost active-x,

and had to restore to an earlier date to retrieve. I also de-activated

firewall and AVG to see if that would help.

Flash player is not listed in all programs, but when I go to control panel,

to uninstall mode, it is listed.

I'm at wit's end. What is going to happen if I mess up my operating system.

This laptop doesn't have a program cd, meaning it would start costing to

get professional help.

I'd appreciate more help.

Adrian.

Hi Sunil,

I have just gone to Security and when I opened the drop down, Active X

filtering was not checked. I assume that means that it is inactive?

What do I do next ? I have tried to initialize flash player, and each time

I get the message: You are now using flash player, but as soon as I open a

video on you tube, it reflects the same message: you need to install flash

player. Hoping that it is clearer to you. To me its still clear as mud!!

Have a good day.

Adrian.

Andrian,

Could you please go to the following site and let us know what it says about the Flash Player status: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

Also, please ensure that you did the following:

Enable JavaScript (First step)

Enable Flash Player plugin

If it doesn't work, please let me know what you meant by initializing Flash Player?

Thanks,

Sunil

Hi Sunil,

When I go to control panel and click on uninstall a program, I have the

option of flash player, ie to uninstall.

However, when I go: start - all programs, flash player is not on the list.

That indicated to me that it had downloaded, but not installed itself on my

operating system?

I checked both java script and flash player plugin, and both are enabled.

I then accessed you tube and when I clicked on a video, it started showing.

I now have checked games, that works also. Media player and Audio are

working fine.

It seems the problem has been solved somehow. I'm still clueless, but thank

you for your interest and advise via the forum.

Please thank the other members if this doesn't copy automatically.

Regards,

Adrian Sakko.

Andran,

Flash Player is a browser plug-in and that's why you don't see it in the Programs. Being available in the Control Panel indicates that it's installed in your machine. We are glad that you could solve the issue. And, your reply is marked to all members.

Thanks,

Sunil
