Stop dreamweaver from opening subfiles?

Is it possible to stop dreamweaver from opening all the subfiles? It's ridiculously slow when there's a lot of includes.

If you have defined a site before starting the work then I thought clicking/double-clicking on the file will only open that particular file.  When you start DW, you should see something like this on your right-bottom panel:

I would now click/double click on the HTML file to edit it and that is the only file that is opened.  Perhaps your configuration is slightly different from mine.

To prevent includes from being loaded into Dreamweaver, change the Related Files option in Preferences.

    1. Open Preferences from the Edit menu on Windows or the Dreamweaver menu on a Mac.
    2. In the General category, deselect the "Enable Related Files" checkbox.
