I need help deleting a page from a spread. After I delete the page from the spread the page is gone but I need the following page to take the place of the deleted page and have all the other pages renumber accordingly. I am using Indesign CS6.
For example, I am editing a book and I need to delete page 7. After deleting page 7, I need page 8 to turn into page 7 and all other pages to renumber accordingly. I believe this will be very simple to do; however, I do not know how to do it.
Thank you for helping in advance. God bless you!
You would have had to have added the page numbers on a master page using the current page marker.
A couple of suggestions for you.
1. Buy this book: http://amzn.to/ORQqtT
2. Check out Lynda.com. This link will get you a free one-week trial: http://bit.ly/fcGpiI

Dear Bob, while your suggestion is well received it will not help specifically address the problem that I have at this time. I have looked up tutorials on the specfic task that I need to do and I still do not totally understand it.
Dear Peter I have uploaded an image as you have requested. I also added annotations. I hope that you are someone else will be able to help.
If you delete page viii, pages ix, x, xi and xii should mve one position to the left and renumber, but you have a new section starting at page 1 after the current page xii, and that is not going to change. By default ID follows convention and keeps odd-numbered pages on the right, and to overcome that you need to disallow page shuffling for at least one spread and manually drag a page to the other side of the spine, which would be a big mistake, in my opinion. Readers are used to pages being numbered according to tradition.
That doesn't seem to be the only blank page in the front matter section. Perhaps you should consider removing two blanks there and adding one at the end of the doc to maintain the page count.
