Merging Groups Cropping Problem CS6

When merging groups in Photoshop CS6 (Command-E), the images are now being cropped to the document edge. I need to retain the image data for repositioning/sizing. This was not default behavior in previous versions and I can't find an option to change it.

Yeah, huh. You're right. I wonder if that was an intentional change in CS6...

If you reveal the content of the Group, target its layers, then merge, you'll retain the outside data.

Yeah... maybe that should be bugged. Don't know why Merging a Group should have changed.

Yep, just starting using CS6 and this is annoying.  I like to group to flatten and then make that layer a smart object because I don't need the other layers but I want the new layer to retain nondestructive sizing.  Yes you can get around it but why would you change this?

Hooray! Update your PS this issue appears to be fixed. Although, upon updating I seem to be encountering errors with application manager.
