what's is adobe thinking with this - selection tool in indesign always moving the image in the image object box when trying to move the image object
Its not only annoying but time consuming as yoyu have to constantly undo and the rechoose the object carefully not to touch it too muh before it goes into the next mode. I thought that was why there where two tools - selection tool and direct selection tool

Some people like being able to move an image within a frame without having to switch tools, so they made the Content Grabber. Some people just call it the donut, because it looks a little like a donut (see the red pointer in my scrreenshot). If you drag the image frame in the middle, you can move the image, and if you drag away from the middle, you can drag the frame itself. You can also double-click on the image to move the image without having to grab it in the middle.
If you don't want the content grabber, you can turn it off in the View menu. Double-clicking will still switch between moving the image or the frame.
