Does anyone know why the animated gifs I made in Fireworks don't play when I preview my documents on the Adobe content viewer?
Making the animation work in InDesign CS6 with DPS :
Here's an article " http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/enhancing- your-dps-folios-with-edge-animations.html " that might help.
Use Adobe edge to design such Animations. Animations made with Edge work best with DPS. As already pointedout Animated GIF's are not supported. Export .oam file from edge and use in Indesign. Other types of high end animations are possible by converting animations to HTML and importing them in your Indesign Workflow.
Thanks for all your replies. I have another question, I've converted my .fla animation to an .html file.
I created a frame, went to my overlays panel, selected 'web content' and selected my animation file. But when I try to preview it, Indesign just freezes.
Am I doing it right?
You have to place the animated gif in your Edge document then publish as .OAM file or html and place it in InDesign document as a web content.
After you place it, remember to select auto-play on page load.
I test it on the Content Viewer descktop and on the iPad. I never test it on a compiled app.
