why can't i uninstall adobe reader x (10.1.3) from my computer?

Hi Pat, quite simply, I've been having some "Reader" troubles and I thought I would Uninstall my Adobe products and then reinstall what I need to open what I have. All but Adobe Reader X (10.3.1) uninstall from my computer ( HP w/windows xp-media centre 2003 sp-3). In my Add or Remove... the said ...Reader... doesn't have a remove button only a clear msg. stating that "this update cannot be remove". It was installed April 10, 2012. Help if you can. Thanks!

Just a note of THANKS!!!! for the adobe cleaner tool, "it worked". I now have Adobe 9.5 installed and it's working great.
