I purchased Lightroom 4 and have an iMac G5. Are they compatible?

See the link for the specs.
I bought it to install on my Uncle's imac5. I'm a media professional, all PC, fully versed in Photoshop. I thought when I bought this that it would be a light version of Photoshop that would run on his mac. Will it run at all on his system? Should I purchase an older version or buy him a new computer?
Thanks for you help!
Sorry but the G5 loses on several counts when you need to run current software ... first it uses a PowerPC processor and Lr for Mac will only run on a 64 bit intel archetecture. While the G5 was a wonderful machine in it's day, it's not up to par for what is being offered today.
If your unle wants to run Lr ... he's going to need a more current computer and OS ...

Adobe Photoshop Elements is more what Adobe sells as a "light version of Photoshop". (I don't know what the system requirements are.)
Nevertheless, I think Lightroom would have been a good choice if it would run on your uncle's computer. Although not a "light version of Photoshop", it contains the same technology as Camera Raw. Unless your uncle wants to create artwork, do compositing, etc, Lightroom is a fantastic and relatively inexpensive alternative to Photoshop. In addition, or rather primarily, it is a powerful database image management system.
