I recently received Premiere CS6 and have been putting it to work. Unfortunately, the Filter Content Bin search in the Projects Panel window doesn't seem to work. I don't know how to fix it and Adobe Customer support sent me to some poor sap in India who had no clue. Please help.
Basically the search bar at the top of the Projects panel that allows you to quickly search for files in your bins, is grayed out. I've gotten it to work after opening and closing the program but it's fickle.
Same problem here. Reboot doesn't help at all. The search window in the media browser works fine. CS6 6.0.3; i7; GTX 670; Windows 7 - Professional. Anyone figure this out?
FIGURED IT OUT. THIS happens when the clips etc you are working with seem to be imported, but aren't. This is most likely to happen with us rookies who are training ourselves on something like video2brain's terrific Learn by Video series. The gotcha is that you you can work away on this training without actually importing, thus the filter doesn't work. Just go to assets and import a folder and the filter will light up!
Me too. Filter bin content was greyed out, CS6 saying there were still many items to index. I recalled that I had "imported" my folders by drag & drop from Windows Explorer. Did that many times in CS4. I then imported an unrelated folder the "normal" way, from within CS6, and still CS6 would not index the items for search. Opened an entirely new project, imported some folders the "normal" way, and the once-greyed area lit up. Happiness. Still wouldn't on first project, though. Left first project open overnight, this morning all items appear indexed, and filter bin content search is also now lit up. Was it the drag/drop importing that stalled indexing? Was it that CS6 needed overnight to index everything for search? Had I not bowed before the Adobe gods properly? Dunno. But all is working now.
