lightroom 4 for macbook 5,1

Hello,

i just dowloaded a free trial of lightroom 4 on my macbook 5,1 but it won't open - is this because my laptop is an older model or do I need an additional program to help it start?

What version of OSx are you running on your Macbook?

http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html Your operating system is not supported under LR 4.x. You will need to upgrade OSx. Sorry.
