Sep 2, 2012 1:05 PM

I downloaded an update for adobe flash player and when the update installed, it also installed a McAfee product without asking my permission. I AM NOT IMPRESSED WITH THAT!

Vimes42, when you are on the Flash Player download page, it gives you an additional option to install Mcafee or Google Chrome. You can uncheck that checkbox in case you don't want to install them.

I have the same issue and I am very disappointed by this procedure ! Only non-serious companies are using such hidden install and must-opt-out ********. If I want to install google chrome or the google toolbar then I go to google and download it. I am not expecting adobe to ask me to opt out of the crap when I am installing a security update for a ridiculously flawed software like adobe flash player.

I wish there was an alternative to flash player because then I would immediately stop using adobe flash and never ever again use any adobe software !
