Yes, I'm using Safari and I am using 32-bit mode. Anything else?
How about trying Firefox to see if it is working? Firefox can be downloaded from this link:
Make sure the download is for Mac machine and not for Windows.
Do you have safari 5.1 or later. If yes, then you will have to use it in 64-bit.
If it is less than 5.1 then you will have to use it in 32-bit mode.
Also Firefox works only in 64-bit mode.
Is it still not opening after you have turned of 32-bit mode of SAFARI?
What exactly happens when you open PDF in SAFARI?
Following are steps to enable 64-bit mode for safari:
Note that if you do not see a checkmark in this box, your browser is already running in 64-bit mode.
Did you perform the same steps.
Yes, I performed the steps you list to turn off 32-bit mode.
What happens when I try to open a pdf: When I click on the link, I get a blank black screen. The url bar which usually ends with an arrow with a curved tail ends instead with an "X."
Is it happening with each PDF. Please try to open the following PDF: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_Rel easeNote_10.1.3.pdf
Also please check if required plugins are installed.
To do same, open Safari->Help->Installed Plug-ins. Check if the following plug-ins are listed there:
1. Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in, version 10.1.4.
2. Adobe Acrobat Plug-in, version 10.1.4
Please ensure there versions are 10.1.4
