Hi,
Android Viewers (here without subscription) for Google Play Store, do not retain the folio file when downloaded. As long as the app is active (even as background task), there is no problem. But as soon as you kill the background task and relaunch the App, the folio file is missing and the download button shows again. I tested with two different apps.
I use the the following tools:
InDesign CS5.5
Adobe Folio Builder Panel 12.2.4
Adobe Folio Producer Tools 1.11
Adobe Viewer Builder 2.1.130
The folio is v20
The App is a v21 Android Viewer for Google Play Store without subscription
My Test Tablet is an Acer IconiaTab A510 with Android 4.0.3
Developer Mode (USB Debugging, etc.) is off
Has anyone the same behaviour?
Thanks
Yves
Hi, I have the same problem: Android viewers do not retain the folio file when downloaded. While app is in background all works fine but when close and relaunch folios must be downloaded again.
I use:
InDesign CS6
DPS Desktop Tools CS6
Adobe Viewer Builder 2.1.130
Folio and App Version is 21
I tested on:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Android 3.2
Someone could help us please? Thanks in advance.
Edit: I rebuilt folios and custom viewer for v20 and everything works fine. What a strange... ![]()
If possible, please email me your .apk file: bbringhu@adobe.com
Dear Bob,
do you have already a solution.
I've just tried with an updated v22 App.
The bug still exists and the folio will not be saved and retained after quitting the App.
This needs a fast hotfix now!!!!!
(3 new bugs and 1 old bug for this morning now is to much. We have other things to do as to check with every new release of the DPS Tools what new and old features are not working (anymore). You have to integrate better testing workflows at Adobe before you release new versions. You can't continue like that).
Hi,
The DPS Bug Fix Release Notes for v22 show (http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/release-note/dps-bug-f ix-release-notes.html):
Adobe, thats not true. The Bug is still there!
Dear Himanshu,
maybe the download Issue has been fixed, but it has been replaced with an even uglier bug.
The App freezes with the startup screen. I have an Acer A510 with Android 4.0.3 to test.
I thought I had already seen a thread with this problem from another person. However, I have not found this post back.
We need a more urgent fix now!
Thanks
Yves
Dear colleagues,
I am not sure, that the problems were solved. Today i created the V22 App, uploaded it to Google and also i updated the App. It had erased all previously downloaded folios!!! Our users stated the same issue too. We were among beta-testers starting Drop 6, but now it looks like we are back to that times. So, why do you charge for such kind of service?
