I signed up for Creative Cloud this morning and followed all of the instructions as to how to download and install apps. First up was Photoshop. I was prompted to download and install Adobe Application Manager, which I did. From within AAM, I tried to download Photoshop. It failed, error (-60), said it was corrupt. I tried After Effects. That downloaded and installed fine. I tried Photoshop again. Failed, same message.
I read in another forum that someone had success downloading a trial version of Photoshop and then entering Creative Cloud credentials. I tried that: was prompted to download and install Adobe Download Assistant, which I did. I downloaded Photoshop successful but it failed on extraction, said it was corrupt. What gives??
I tried restarting my machine and doing the download through AAM again. At this point I noticed that there were somehow TWO instances of AAM in my applications folder, in different places. Confused, I decided to delete them both and re-install.
But now, I can't figure out how to reinstall AAM. I am on https://creative.adobe.com/apps and I clicked the "Download" link under Photoshop, but literally nothing happens.
I am so frustrated and disgusted. This is a brand new computer, it has no previous history with Adobe, so I don't understand what the problem is.
I guess the specific questions I am asking are:
Sorry to hear about your difficulties. I would probably uninstall both Photoshop and After Effects. Typically when all CS6 products that were included as part of Creative Cloud are uninstalled the Adobe Application Manager is uninstalled also.
After you uninstall these both use the Adobe Cleaner tool to ensure everything is removed.
For the corrupted download of Photoshop, if you have the option to, I would try downloading the trial on a different computer and then copy the installation files over to the new computer that was having the issue to reinstall. If this works it would point to something about the new computer
Thanks for your suggestions.
I never was able to get Photoshop installed in the first place, so there was nothing to uninstall. I uninstalled After Effects and restarted. I downloaded the Adobe Cleaner tool and used it to "clean" CS6, then restarted again. I went back to creative.adobe.com/apps and tried to download Photoshop Extended. It prompted me to download AAM, so I did that and it automatically started downloading Photoshop. I got the same error as before: "Installation Failed."
I tried downloading the trial version of Photoshop Extended on a DIFFERENT machine, and the download failed. It said "Download Failed, Error 109" and suggested that there is something wrong with the internet connection or the destination disk. There's nothing wrong with our internet connection, and the destination disk had 98 GB free, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
What would you suggest that I try next?
