When I create a form from a Word file it is automatically entering a bunch of text fields. Is there a way within Adobe to CHANGE these text fields into Check Boxes? This file is going to have several hundred check boxes, so ideally I really don't want to have to delete every single text field and then manually add all the check boxes.
There's no built in method, but it would be possible create a script that could create check boxes in the same locations as the text fields, and get rid of the text fields. You can also create a single check box and create many based on it. See: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4034628
Thanks for the response. So when Acrobat, automatically creates form fields and makes an incorrect choice as to the type of field (text, check box, radio button, etc), your script would allow me to simply convert the the existing field to a different type without having to create a new field? Please confirm that that is correct.
I have a script that I use, but am not going to post it here. Try67 has one for sale, and there's a link to it in the thread linked to above. You can contact him if interested, or at least test the demo.
