Replacing Footage in Merged Clips cs6

Is there any way to replace footage of merged clips in cs6?

    Yes, highlight the clip in the Project Window (or Source Monitor) first then rightclick Replace clip form ....

    Why?

     

    If you need ProRes for effect work or something, you're better off just editing with those.

    Well, you're only option here is to make the clips offline and relink them to the ProRes versions.  But I don't know if that will work between AVCHD and ProRes, and even if it does, it may still fail once the original clips have been merged.  But that's the process.  Make offline, then relink.

     

    If that doesn't work, then it's time to get some more hard drives.
