PS 9 Elements "Inspiration Browser" issue

Sep 5, 2012 9:59 PM

My welcome screen asked me to download an update for windows 7 users. As instructed, I removes the existing Inspiration Browser and clicked "update. Then clicked install now. A window appeared saying "Adobe Air" must be installed first.  I clicked yes and the message error came up " a download error has occured, try again. I did nothing happens and now I have lost the original inspiration browser. Reinstalling requires me to REMOVE PS 9. If I do i'll lose all of my albums. Need help. to find and reinstall the Inspiration Browser.

Try downloading and installing entirely outside of the Organizer or Welcome Screen. Firstly, uninstall AIR and IB via the control panel. Then do ctrl+alt+delete and open the  processes tab in task manager. Highlight any running Adobe application or process and end it. Use the link below and it will install both IB and AIR.

As a side note, uninstalling PSE9 will not make you lose your albums. Only application files are removed during uninstall, anything you have created since them is kept.

I am installing PSE10, and experiencing the same issue with the updating the IB.  I followed these steps exactly and still received the error.

I downloaded AIR directly from Adobe outside of the IB installation, and it installed fine.  I then tried to install IB again, and still received the error when trying to get past the Adobe AIR Installer.

palosdon, were you able to resolve this issue?  If so, how?

Use IE to access the Adobe Web site and do the installation.  Also, as 99jon said, make sure there are no Adobe or PhotoshopElements processes running before starting the procedure.
