Having problems making links open in a specific target?

Hi,

I'm quite new to dreamweaver and whenever I've previously made websites I have used iframes that allow you to direct links to open within another iframe <BASE target=homepage> etc.

I've started to produce a site on Dreamweaver using div tags and CSS but i can't find anyway to create a similar effect. Looking on other forums I don't think its actually possible to do this, and it suggests using .php in some form.

Basically how can you make links from a top section of the site open in a different section on the same page in dreamweaver?

Sorry if this is a stupid thing to ask, just I can't find a definite answer to my question anywhere else.

Welcome -

Two common ways to achieve your objective are DW Templates or Server Side Includes (SSI).
I's suggest you explore the SSI route as it is more efficient and requires less of a learning curve than DW Templates.

Others will come along and post links to tutorials on both methods.
