deleting duplicates

How do I identify orginal photos so I can delete the many duplicates I have as a result of computer backup and restore issues?

    There is no easy way in PSE9 other than to do it manually. If you keep your images in folders on your hard drive you can switch to Folder Location View (click the display button near top right of Organizer) and that may assist by allowing you to inspect the content of each folder from the left hand tree.

    There is no easy answer as it depends on how you saved your photos after editing. If you saved automatically into version sets your jpegs will be grouped together with the words edit, edit1, edit2 etc added to the original file names. Of course you may wish to keep the lasted edited version rather than the original.
