I'm running Lightroom 4.2 on a Mac (OS 10.7.4, 14gig ram). Starting about a month or so ago I noticed that my preferences didn't seem to be saving. I recently dug into the Preferences folder by using the GO menu item in the finder (/users/"me"/Library/Preferences) and to my surprise there wasn't a preference file for Lightroom at all.
Seems like a re-install is in order, but I don't recall seeing an uninstaller on the original disk. Thoughts on how to uninstall please?
With the exception of the com.adobe.lightroom***, that is exactly what I'm seeing. For some unkown reason Lightroom just isn't creating a plist.
I guess I'll have to contact their tech support to figure this out. It's getting pretty annoying that even thought I have checked "do not show again" to the tips window that opens each time I launch Lightroom, they still show up, add to that having to enter my license keys each time I try to use my purchased pluggins, and redirecting the backup to the external drive when I quit... you get the idea.

It was the permissions, but not the easy fix. First I tried it with Disk Utility, ran and quit LR--no go. Quit everything, ran Techtool Pro 6, repaired permissions with this. Tried again, still no good. Rebooted, ran the root account and ran TTP6 again, switched user to mine, tried LR again...no joy. Went in the closet and pulled out my geek hat, placed snugly on head. Went to the finder window with the Pref's showing in column view, did "get info" on the pref's folder itself--AHAH, admin was set to read only. Unlocked it, changed to read and write, tried LR again-BINGO.
Very very strange shenanigans' the leprechauns have played on this not so young irish laddy.
Thanks for your help guys!
