Image Distortion

Hi Guys

I'm running CS6 on Win7. Up 'till recently all OK importing images. Over the last day or so, everytime I place and resize an image in my document it's like an oversized thumbnail (all jagged and pixelated). I have to go into Photoshop regardless and save the image as a JPEG for web and place that instead (I can't place the PSD version as that opens all pixellated). I haven't cahnged anything but is there some setting that I need to revisit in case it's somehow changed itself?

    Start with View > Dispaly Performance > High Quality Display (and maybe change the default in the prefs, too).

     

    It could also be that there just isn't enough resolution for ht e size to which you are scaling. What's the effective ppi when you check the link info?
