Sep 6, 2012 6:31 PM

I am using 64 WIndows version of CS5.5. Even my basic filters (blur/gaussian) are missing from the dropdown menu. Please help.

Check to see what image is.  Some tools/filters only work on 8 bit RGB files.  Look in Image/mode

    Hi,

There are some filters that doesn't work on 64 Bits, try this :

    - Go to Image -> mode and verifiy that the image is opened in 8bits/channel mode (like advised by CurtY).

    - If it doesn't work, try to launch 32bits version (both are installed on your machine) and test it

    Hello!

Could you state if they are not visible, or just greyed out.

Do post the contents of help>System info...

Did you move the Photoshop install out of its default location?

And now for the less likely possibility: They could have been hidden with Edit > Menus.

If so there should be a item saying something like »Show All Menu Items« in the menu.

Normally that 3D Engine filter shouldn't cause those kind of problems.

If you want to get photoshop working properly some more information is needed.

(put the 3d engine plugin back in before doing any of the below)

Did you try resetting the photoshop cs5 preferences?

    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0

Have you updated your graphics card drivers from the gpu makers site (not through windows update)?

Could you post your photoshop cs5 system info as PECoutrtejoie requested?

(from withing photoshop cs5: Help>System Info)
