Photoshop CS6 not opening

Sep 6, 2012 10:25 AM

I recenlty got a new computer and loaded my adobe cloud onto it.  The first few times it worked fine but today it only minimizes into the lower tool bar and never opens.  It won't even let me max it it's just the main splash screen minimized.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it's not working.  Please help if you can...thanks

    1.  The splash screen shows some status info as it's opening.  Where does it stop?

    2.  Have you added any plug-ins or made any system changes since it worked?

    3.  Expanding on Manish's question, you can press and hold Control - Shift - Alt (Command - Option - Alt on a Mac) immediately after cold-starting Photoshop and if you're quick enough to get the keys down it will prompt you to confirm deletion of the current preferences, which will cause a fresh set of defaults to be generated.  This solves many Photoshop problems.

    Good luck.
